Paige
She looked around the table and began to serve everyone.
"I don't know when he'll be back. After he cools down I suppose, and our argument was between us."
Paige wasn't going to give in. She had gotten that from her adoptive mother as she was growing up. There were some things that kids shouldn't have to bare witness to with their parents.

Josey shook her head.
"Come on mom! Tell me!"
She wasn't going to let up as she was pissed that her dad just left. She didn't want her parents to end up like her aunt and uncle Cole.
"I'm the oldest, I can handle it. What happened?"
Tossing a plate down it made a loud noise on the table as Paige eyed her eldest.

Paige
"Josephine Adrianna, I am not getting into this right now."
She was already upset enough from her and Kyle's fight and this was the last thing her nerves needed. She composed herself and looked around the table.
"Now, we are going to have a nice dinner. Right now. Or is that too much to ask, Jo?"

"No, Mom, it's fine." she jumped in before Jo could say anything else. "We'll eat." sighing inside, sat down at the table, saying nothing more than 'Thank you' when Paige put food on her plate.
Not that I'm hungry anymore, she thought. Man, this one really rocked the boat. Maybe if I dropped out of school there'd be no more fights. And Mom and Dad won't end up arguing about me and end up like Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Cole.
::She looked around at her sister, brother and mother, taking small bites. Chewing them slowly, she played with her food while doing so, to make it look like she ate more.::

Paige
After a long silence, she set her fork down and looked at her kids, her expression softening and a small smile protruding onto her face.
"Look guys, it's important that you know me and your father are going to disagree. We're different people and we have different views of the world and how to raise families. We may fight, but it's never about you guys. It's just about how we want to do things. I don't want you to worry. We're not going to end up like Phoebe and Cole, or Grandma Patty and Grandpa Victor. We'll work this out in our own time, but none of it is any of you guys' fault. Understand?"

Josey
She was pissed that her father would just walk out. He and Paige was always upfront with her and she didn't know why now they weren't.
"No, I actually don't!"
Slamming her plate on the table she spilled some food on it and walked out the kitchen.
"I'm done! I really am!!"
Orbing out she landed right next to her father who was shocked that she orbed to him.
"Where the hell am I? I didn't want to come here. But since I am what is going on with you and mom? I want the truth!"
She was serious and orbing to Kyle was no coincidence. She was angry and her emotions overwhelmed her powers and took her to the source of her anger.

Kyle
"Jo, what are you doing here?" He was sitting in his car, driving towards the bridge.
He sighed and looked at her, "Me and your mother just had a fight. A normal everyday fight. I told her I was going out to cool down. Nothing to worry about, honey."

Josephine
"Nothing to worry about?"
She scoffed a little.
"You and mom don't fight like this. You never have and all of a sudden, after everything with Steph and Keith...and ME! You just have this big blown out fight."
She saw that they were headed for the bridge.
"Yeah right! I don't buy it. So either you tell me the truth, or I'll find it my own way."
She raised an eyebrow.

Kyle
"Look, it's just been an ongoing discussion between us. whether or not to send you kids to actually live at MS and pull you out of public school. You're mother wants you to have a bit of normality and I want you to be safe and not draw attention to yourselves. Tonight it got out of hand. Your mother wouldn't even listen to me on this. She decided it herself that you weren't going. She also called you guys 'her kids' and that got to me. So excuse me if I don't feel like going home and sitting at our dinner table with her."
during the course of his speech he had gotten a little heated and angry at the recollection of the fight. He had raised his voice, which he was well aware of and which he usually didn't do when speaking of Paige.

Stopping at the bridge, they got out.
"Thanks dad. At least you are honest with me."
That was the first time she and Kyle really saw eye to eye.
"Don't worry about mom. It's hurting her as well, even thought I made it a little more rough on her."
She cleared her throat looking out into the sky. It was big beautiful and endless.
"I want to go to magic school. This is my finally year at high school and I have been going to magic school on and off..."
Kyle caught a glimpse of her.
"I might as well enroll full time and take charge of my destiny and my powers."
She finished looking at Kyle and then back out towards the sky.

::She watchd her sister storm off, and for once hesitated to say something back to her mother.::
"No, I don't either." she sid, looking from Jo's exit point to her mother. "If nothing was wrong, then why aren't Dad and Jo sitting at the table with us?" she looked Paige in the eyes, in a small, tidbit of a challenging way.

Paige
She could feel her eyes burning. She had never had a fight with Kyle like this before. He had never stormed off and out of the house, and she had always been straight up honest with her daughters.
Paige stood up, folding her napkin very neatly and placing it on the table. She wiped the beginning of a tear from her eye and smiled at Steph.
"Would you make sure your brother eats his dinner and clean up? I, um, I need to go upstairs."
She went over and gave her daughter a kiss on her head while touseling Keith's and then headed up to her room.
Kyle
He smiled at his daughter, "You're right. You should be chasing your destiny, but I don't think it's time for your sister and brother. I think your mother is right on that, but you. I think you could handle it."

::She made no move to show that she acknowledged her mother's kiss.::
"Sure," she said aloud after Paige had already left. Pushing her plate away, she looked at Keith. "Are you still hungry? Because I think I have enough money to orb downtown for some ice cream. We'll ditch our dinners but we can't tell Mom. This'll be our little secret thing." she smiled weakly at her little brother and winked. "Whaddya say?"
At least you're still young enough where a little ice cream sweeps away the worries, Steph thought to herself, wishing she was Keith's age again.

Keith
He smiled, "Yeah! That'd be awesome!"
He took his plate to the trash can and wiped the rest of the food off of it and into the trash can.

::She nodded, and trashed her food also.::
"Okay, lemme write a note for Mom telling her we'll be back soon, if she decides to come back down."
::She scribbled a note, saying:
"Mom-
Took Keith out for a few. Won't be long, promise. Doubt you'll see this. Again, be back soon.
-Steph"
She stood up and sighed.::
"There. That oughta do it. Okay, let's go." She took Keith's hand, and orbed them downtown for ice cream, careful not to let anyone see them orb.
